Along with Jens' father, Johan Pisarski, they drew up some sketches for a portable high chair which joiner-trained Jan Simonsen produced the first prototype of in 1987. Building them in Jan's garage, it was soon tested and approved by TÜV.</p> <p>By 1995, after several years of design refinements and growing domestic sales, the three men expanded outside of Denmark. The HandySitt compact high chair is now sold in over 25 countries.</p> <p>In 2006, the HandySitt range of high chairs and accessories was expanded to include a unique children’s lamp that displays a child’s creative development.</p> <p>Now, the company is known as <a href="http://www.minui.com/" target="_blank">&reg;minui a|s</a> and is owned by Hardy Mogensen. They are <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Stewardship_Council" target="_blank">FSC</a>-certified (Forest Stewardship Council, an international non-profit labeling system that guarantees responsible forestry management.). Their label means your wood and paper purchases can be made with a clear conscience. In an FSC forest, tree felling is limited to the number of trees that the forest is able to reproduce, animals and plant life are protected, and forest workers are adequately trained and remunerated.
